Top Ten Movies!

Its movie month here at Heart Shaped Glasses, so I thought I would share my top ten favourite movies. These are all films I watch over and over again.

AliensPost3

  1. Aliens – best action movie ever.
  2. Serenity – bring back Firefly!
  3. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back – because it started me on my lifelong love affair with Han Solo.
  4. Love Actually – I watch this every Christmas. I love all the intermingling stories.
  5. Terminator 1 and 2 – I slipped an extra one in there but I couldn’t decide which I liked better.
  6. Pulp Fiction – another I love for the intertwining stories (and John Travolta!)
  7. Lord of the Rings – okay, that’s three films but they did such a fantastic job with such a huge story.
  8. Gladiator – Russell Crowe in a skirt, what more can I say!
  9. Dirty Dancing – I just love the dancing in this movie.
  10. Avatar – for the special effects.

Looking at this list, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of romance in there. And, as a writer of all sorts of romance, I feel I should be watching more! So which romantic movies would you recommend?

About Nina Croft

Nina Croft grew up in the north of England. After training as an accountant, she spent four years working as a volunteer in Zambia which left her with a love of the sun and a dislike of 9-5 work. She then spent a number of years mixing travel (whenever possible) with work (whenever necessary) but has now settled down to a life of writing and picking almonds on a remote farm in the mountains of southern Spain. Nina writes all types of romance often mixed with elements of the paranormal and science fiction.

I have to laugh. Some of those are in my top ten, like over half of them. But what’s really funny is that all of them are in my top 20. Great minds think alike. LOL!

    Great post.

  2. Ruth Harris says:

    Love your list, Nina.

For superlative romance in the grand style, OUT OF AFRICA with Robert Redford & Meryl Streep (will never forget when they are on safari & he washes her hair). THE WAY WE WERE, Barbara Streisand & Redford (will never forget when he sleeps in her bed & she gazes at him with infinite longing). THE ENGLISH PATIENT based on the Michael Ondaatje novel. (Will never forget when Ralph Fiennes tears Kristin Scott Thomas’s dress, then sews it.)

    All swoon-worthy in excelsis!

  3. Nina Croft says:

    They do indeed, Lynn!

  4. Nina Croft says:

Ruth – you’re just trying to make me cry – I remember bawling my eyes out at The English Patient – it was sooo sad!

  5. I watch JAWS over and over again. LOL
    Love that movie!

  6. Would you believe I JUST saw “Love Actually” for the first time last week? Loved it.
